Lake Mattawa is located just south of Route 2 in Orange, MA. It is a popular swimming spot in the summer. There's a beach along Holtshire Road.

Boating and sailing are also popular. There are two paved, public boat ramps, both on Lake Mattawa Road. Outboard motors are restricted to 10hp or less. The depth of the lake averages 17 feet, and the maximum depth is 40 feet.

It's also a popular fishing spot and is stocked with trout and salmon.
