A beautiful community greenspace in downtown Greenfield!
Truly a park - a place to relax, stroll along tree-lined paths with beautiful demonstration gardens, and see sustainable energy demonstrations. View the historic caboose and play on the kid's climbing train. The park is a place to enjoy and learn about energy resourses, natural environment, transportation alternatives, conservation practices and heritage preservation.
There is a performance pavilion, The Station, Greenfield's new civic pavilion. A replica of the original railroad depot, it graces the original station site (1881-1963). Events and concerts happen here regularly. 2006 Concerts & Events
To reserve the pavilion for concerts, performances, weddings, seminars or other events contact Greenfield Recreational Director, Cathleen Buntin at: (413) 772-1553. The Station
The mission of this town park is to offer an inviting gathering place for lunches, concerts or workshops and to provide public education about issues of sustainable energy in a friendly, non-technical atmosphere. The park is one and one-quarter acres.
Funding came from a wide variety of community, state and federal sources through grant awards, foundation gifts and individual contributions. The park is owned by the Town of Greenfield and was built in partnership with the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA), a not-for-profit membership-based organization. NESEA organizes all clean energy demonstration exhibits in the park on an ongoing basis and programs.
