Welcome

Built in 1797 the Bird’s Nest is located just three miles from Shelburne Falls and the Mohawk Trail. In the foothills of the Berkshires in historic Buckland Center, the Bird’s Nest exudes an ambience of elegance and simplicity.

The Bird’s Nest is located within minutes of an impressive array of vacation activities and sites along the Mohawk Trail. Things To Do

 Breakfast

Your hosts Pat, Cyndy and Dennis will prepare a delicious breakfast especially for you. Enjoy the warmth of fireside dining or cool breezes and a lovely view from our screened porch while savoring the fresh country flavors of your fanciful breakfast. Your breakfast will begin with juice, coffee or tea, fresh baked breads and muffins or scones, plus fresh fruit in season. Your main course will be a full and hearty meal in itself. Home made granola is always available.

We use only the finest foods, and as much as possible we buy from local farmers, including eggs from the Atherton Farm (Farm stand down the hill from us.)

Breakfast is served until 10:30 in the morning, when you want it.

We will meet your needs for special dietary concerns with advance notice.

Refreshments are always available on our screened porch or next to a cozy fire.

Our History

Named in honor of Edith Dolby nee Bird, the family matriarch, the Bird’s Nest is filled with quilts, weavings, rugs, clayware, furniture, sculpture and paintings created by a family of artists and artisans. As well, we have filled our home with family heirlooms, antiques and collectables. More History
