So, What is ValleyLists, Anyway? An Overview
Welcome to ValleyLists! The FREE website that helps you get connected where you live.
I am Will Flanders, ValleyLists' founder and the President of the Connecticut River Valley Institute, Inc.. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to tell you about ValleyLists and what you can do and find here.
A COMMUNITY GATHERING PLACE AND HUGE BULLETIN BOARD IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Imagine that in the center of your town or neighborhood there is a gathering place where many people come together to talk about the issues of the day or whatever interests them in that moment and there is a huge bulletin board.
This huge bulletin board has detailed lists of everthing you might want to know about:
* everthing that is going on where you live, all events, classes, workshops, activities, meetings, and tag sales;
* fun things to do, places to hold events, locally produced food and other products, people and animal resources, tourist attractions, lodging, restaurants, and shops;
* all businesses, non-profit organizations, and informal groups (such as study groups, motorcycle clubs, quilting circles, children's play groups, etc.), large and small, who are available to serve you in their own special way, along with any specials they may be offering today and any news and announcements they may have;
* galleries where individuals can show their art, writing, crafts or whatever they want with their community;
ValleyLists is this wonderful gathering place and huge bulletin board except that it is much more useful because:
* you don't have to leave the comfort of your home,
* you can find precisely what you want to know in this moment without slogging or sifting through lots of irrelevant stuff,
* you can enter into conversations with your friends and neighbors whenever you want on whatever topic you want in the moment,
* it is “G-Rated” - family-friendly and child-friendly - there is NO obnoxious advertising, NO explicit sexual content, and NO violence, and
OK, you may be saying, this is all very cool, but who is going to put up all of this information for me to use?
The answer is that everyone enters their own information into ValleyLists. The website is designed to make it pretty easy for you to enter your information - if you can send and receive an email, you have the skills to enter something into ValleyLists!
ValleyLists.com is a division of the Central Connecticut River Valley Institute (CCRVI), a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. For more information on CCRVI, click here.
