What is a Paid Listing?
Paid Listings are a full page on ValleyLists. They can contain as much text as you want, up to 25 photos and/or graphics in a slide-show or "Power Point" format, links to your existing website if you have one, and can be “dressed up” with HTML coding if you wish.
In most cases you designate the geographical area you want to reach by selecting a Service Area. Your Service Area can be as small as one ZIP code or as large as the entire Connecticut River Valley from Canada to Long Island Sound.
Costs:
Paid Listings are annual subscriptions on ValleyLists and are separated into two categories:
Businesses: $50.00/year during the Pre-Launch/Beta Testing Phase, later: $60.00/year
All others: $25.00/year during the Pre-Launch/Beta Testing Phase; later: $30.00/year
We'll Create Your Page For You
ValleyLists will create your Paid Listing for you based on your existing website or on text and photos and/or graphics you provide to us in electronic/digital format. This service is FREE during the Pre-Launch/Beta Testing Phase and will be $15.00 later. Contact Will Flanders at (413) 625-2525 or will@valleylists.com if you want ValleyLists to create your Listing for you.
How do I Decide Which Type of Listing is Right for Me?
1. You should use a Business Listing if you are an individual or a business entity (such as a corporation, partnership, limited liability company, limited liability partnership, etc.) engaged in business activities (that is, selling goods or providing services).
2. You should use a Business Listing if you are a non-profit organization or group which is engaged in business activities which are “unrelated” to your non-profit purposes as defined by the IRS - at least with respect to your “unrelated” business activities.
3. You should use a Non-Profit Organization or Group Listing if you are either:
- a formally-organized non-profit entity (whether tax-exempt or not) OR
- an informally-organized group
and your organization or group is engaged in non-profit activities of some kind and/or business activities which are “directly related” to your non-profit purposes as defined by the IRS.
4. Non-profit organizations and groups may have one or more Business Listings for their unrelated business activities and as well as one or more Non-Profit Organization or Group Listings for their non-profit programs and their “related” business activities.
5. You should use an Individual Listing is you are an individual who wishes to present on ValleyLists some aspect of your life, your activities, or your interests which do not involve being engaged in business activities.
6. You may use an Individual Listing to present your art on ValleyLists if you honestly judge that you are not making enough income from the art presented in your Listing to be accurately described as “being engaged in business” with respect to your art.
If you have any questions about how to apply these general rules to your particular situation, please contact Will Flanders at (413) 625-2525 or will@valleylists.com.
