Leslie Barkman opened In Good Hands Therapeutic Massage five years ago after graduating from The Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, MA. She has taken numerous continuing education classes and is licensed (LMT), Nationally Certified (NCTMB) and a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

Leslie's massage practice focuses on pain relief by using a blend of techniques including Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Cranio Sacral Therapy and OrthoBionomy (a form of positional release).

Most recently, she has added Integrative Structural Therapy to her list. This highly effective treatment (which is done fully clothed) addresses our "core distortion" by manipulating the cranial bones in order to open up the cranio sacral fluid in the spine, which in turn stabilizes the pelvis. Once this "core distortion" is released, the soft tissue surrounding it also releases.

With all these techniques at her fingertips, you're sure to receive a highly effective and customized treatment.

  Leslie's sessions are result oriented and are aimed at eliminating pain as well as getting to the root cause of it. Leslie is the "thinking person's" massage therapist, who will work with each client to uncover hidden patterns in your body that cause pain, tight muscles, numbness and tingling, restricted range of motion and muscle spasms.

For better or for worse, everything in our bodies is connected. For example, in a session with Leslie, you might learn that pain in your low back may have begun as a problem in your foot or that numbness in your hand can be the result of nerve impingement from tight muscles in your neck and shoulders. Using client feedback and hands-on assessment techniques, these patterns will be uncovered and addressed.

Leslie also offers Heated  Stone Treatments ( in the colder months only) as well as Lymphatic Drainage sessions.

Leslie's beautful office is conveniently located on RT 47 in Hadley, MA  just half a mile north of RT9  in the 8 River Drive Professional buildings. Her office is relaxing and inviting, and her  treatment table is both cushioned and heated. In addition,  warm towels are used in every session.

Prices start at $40 for 30 minutes, $75 for 60 minutes and $100 for an 90 minutes.

Heated Stone Massage sessions, which run 90 minutes, are priced at $110 and Integrative Structural Therapy (which 75 minutes) is priced at $90.

In Home visits, seated massage for office or social events and gift certificates also available.

Day and evening appointments Monday through Friday 9:30 to 6:00 and  Saturday 9:30 to 3:00
